Our Beginning

Sportsmen for Charity was founded in 1996 by a group of Grundy and Will County business leaders who shared a passion for outdoor sports and a commitment to helping those in need within our community. What began as a small effort fueled by generosity and camaraderie has grown into a long-standing tradition of giving back.

In our early years, we hosted golf outings, shooting events, and raffles that quickly made a meaningful impact. In 1999, we launched our annual signature event, which has continued to grow and thrive year after year. Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, sponsors, and supporters, Sportsmen for Charity has donated more than $2 million to local charitable organizations.

Each year, we proudly support impactful organizations throughout the Will and Grundy County area, including Center for Disability Services, Hope Helps, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Special Connections, Operation St. Nick, and many other deserving local charities. One of the most important aspects of our mission is that 100% of our net proceeds stay local—directly benefiting individuals and families in our own communities.
